How to Navigate the Network (as Client/Partner/Validator/Chain Owner)
As a Client
Start by downloading the Proto Layer browser—your gateway into the network. It comes with the Virtual Desktop, wallet integration, and everything you need to interact with the decentralized operating system.
Fund your wallet with $ePROTO, the ERC-20 version of our token, then convert it to $PROTO, which runs natively on Proto Layer (a bridge is coming soon). From there, you can request compute, storage, or access services, and post jobs directly through the interface. Funds stay locked until your job is completed.
As a Partner
Have extra compute power or storage? Join the network as a provider. Install the official Proto Layer software, list your specs, and start taking jobs. You’ll earn utility tokens like $PROTO for completed work—not $ePROTO, which is reserved for validators and core system functions.
No need to build your own infrastructure—just plug in and contribute.
As a Validator
Download the validator software and help run the network. No staking is required for Proto Layer validators (at least for now)—this isn’t PoS. Validators assign jobs, verify results, and confirm co-chain blocks. Some co-chains may require staking if they choose, but at the base layer, it’s about fairness and uptime, not token weight.
As a Chain Owner
Want to launch something big? Start a co-chain.
Set your own logic, pricing, and services—whether it’s a decentralized Uber, an on-chain Fiverr, or something the world hasn’t seen yet. We’re not just inviting builders; we’re giving you the building blocks.
You don’t need permission to launch—just the idea.
